I'm part of the "vw crowd". A tiny bit of stretch looks OK in my opinion, but I'm talking a 205/50 on a 8" rim, not a 9+ rim. That's just stupid. The hair is stupid too, but in a hilarious "I would point and laugh publicly at it" kind of way.

205/50 on 8" makes some sense. That's about perfect on 7". At 8" the sidewall would be stiffened nicely for drifting.

One of the funnier moments I had discussing stretching with a drifter was after he put 185's on like 15x9 wheels on a Miata. He accused me of starting a "why would anyone stretch tires" rant. I had to inform him that I was actually starting a "why would anyone run crappy 185's on a sportscar" rant.

I wonder where those tires came from? If they are what i think they are, they are long discontinued.

If it had big rally mudflaps on all 4, then it would be perfect. But it ain't half bad as-is.

    Pics, info on tires, etc.

i just came up with a awesome business idea. Start a wheel company, sell super wide wheels with beads set closer to the center so these deutcshe-bags can safely have the stretched tire look without the danger of running super stretched tires.

I think it has its place, with the proper Bosozoku-styled cars, that is.

Anywhere else, though, or on anything that gets seriously driven, and it starts to get silly.
