I've got a concept for some artwork for my wife's helmet. Anyone got a reference for someone that can create the art and then paint or vinyl? I don't have a magazine nearby to look for advertisers.

I know two real great guys. Both do jaw dropping work.
One will talk with you to see what you want then thats it don't ask or pester before its done he's high strung but OMFG the stuff he does. Not just helmet either but bikes and cars. Vinny Digiuli formally known as AKA Paint Doctor but he split from his partner and lost his name. (don't call the paint doctor you'll not get vin's work) Heres one of his works. He also does allot of Racers helmets on the AMA national flat track.

The other is a pin striper / vinyl graphics guys love to do artwork and old school stuff.

I don't know where you are located. But, Dale Flewelling of New Port, New Hampshire is simply incredible. You can google "Art Attack Signs, Newport, New Hampshire" and find him.
His work has been featured in Car, Truck, Bike magazines many times. He does incredible helmets too.
If you contact him tell him that John Chesnut referred him. He has done several projects for me. And, His prices are extremely reasonable. Can't go wrong here.

In FL, but some email art approval, a box and UPS should make this a geography-free exercise.

I painted my own helmet. It's not pro-driver looking, but it's definitely snazzier than 99% of the other helmets at the local scene. Just saying DIY is a valid option here.
