Oh...if only our favorite car mag had done a complete breakdown andf comparision of M3s throughout their development cycle and compared them with their Euro counterparts...

    ...wait a minute! (Oct 2008)

Very true...assuming this car has a Euro motor. It could, as the US version never had a 6 speed, but the ad doesn't specifically call it a "Euro" car.

If it is a Euro car, then the price is even that much more astounding!

Might be a prank. His buddies might have posted his car and number for him at a steal of a price so his phone goes nuts.

Magma (peanut butter) and Modena (orange peanut butter) interiors were only available on US-spec 3.2L (96-99) cars iirc.

This sounds like a non US-spec car... or a fake, or a joke. But for 4 grand, if it runs - who cares? :D

The guy apparently didn't know what he had. I went to check the ad again to call him and he had deleted it and posted a new one. This time it said that it was a euro spec 318i 4dr, 5 speed, with an M3 body kit and M3 wheels.

"Didn't know what he had" is usually code for "don't buy a car from that person" imho. Plus, fake M3's make baby jesus cry.

A 318i from that vintage is worth no more than $2500 around here.

the s50 is the euro m3 engine. s50b30 or s50b32. us spec engines were the s50b30us and the s52.

for 95, the euro spec only had about 30 more horsepower.

I saw an m6 before with the 6 throttle bodies and ever since have respected BMWs. The best way to cut through the BS is just to use VIN numbers. I don't know about bmw but the benz will about tell you everything about the car based on the tin stamp. Good luck finding a decent car!

The point is that even if it is a 318i with a euro motor and a 6 speed, its worth 4k.

So, 6 throttle bodies + runs == BUY IT.
