    Hi all,

The SRS warning light came on in my 2004 Honda CR-V and when hooked up to the code reader, the drver's side seat belt buckle is what came up.

I went to the dealer and was surprised to hear that the replacement part will be almost $500 after taxes! Have any of you had this issue come up and if so, do you know of a good place to buy it from where the price is not so insane?

Alternatively, have you tried repairing the switch in the buckle that is the source of the problem?

    Thanks, Mark

The last time I had a problem with a Honda seat belt, they replaced it for free. The car had about 200k miles on it at the time.

Yeah - Honda has a lifetime warranty on belts and related equipment. Or at least they used to.

Dittos on lifetime. Call a different dealer...or Honda America...or pull-a-part.

The seat belt buckle is anchored to the car via an explosive pre-tensioner, that's probably why it's so expensive.

OP is located in British Columbia. You may want to check out Honda's website or leaf through your owner's manual first to confirm if Honda Canada has the warranty.
