Christina Lam went from the sidelines to full-on track enthusiast in 8 simple steps.
I picked up a low miles, rust free 2003 S10 this fall, that has only one major cosmetic flaw - the clearcoat on the hood is about 1/4 gone. From what I can see, the hood was probably replaced, along with the driver's side fender and both resprayed at that time. Paint seems to be holding up ok on the fender, but the hood looks like poo.
I checked with three local auto body shops how much for a respray of just that panel, if I do the prep work. One won't do it, the other two are both in the $350 range. Seems like a bit much. Thinking instead of trying products from automotivetouchup.com, but have not found anyone yet who has experience with their products.
Anyone here ??
Plasti-Dip it flat black for a permanently temporary fix until you're ready to fix it.
Hmmm ... that black hood looks pretty good on the red truck, probably worth an afternoon of labor and a $5 can of paint to at least try it on my bronze beauty!
