How big an arbor press do I need to press out and in bushings?

Depends on the size of the bushing, but much like TVs, garages, and boobies, bigger is almost always better.

Do you really mean Arbor press like this?
Or do you mean shop press or hydraulic press like this?
Arbor presses are cool. They come in all sorts of sizes. There used to be a monster 18" throw one in my machine shop. But even as huge as it was it couldn't hold a candle to what a cheap small hyd press could do. They are also kind of inconvenient in that you can't fit certain things in them. There is no way you could do a fwd wheel bearing with a huge arbor press but you could with a 1.5 ton shop press.
