    EBC Redstuffs on the front of my Saab 9000 Aero. Day after their first track weekend, and a few thousand miles of street driving. Thoughts?

    Little sandpaper to clean em up and they'll be fine

    How do the rotors look? Usually when my pads look like that (or worse-with melted edges) the rotors are cracked and a nice pretty blue.

    Stock rotors, new when the pads went in, look fine.

    Pads went back in they way they came out, was in the middle of suspension stuff. Koni yellows, B&G springs, new front control arm bushings.

    Hmm..what kind of bedding in process did you do? I'm looking at what seems to be different thicknesses, based upon what looks like uneven wear on the pads (especially the one on the right).

    Could just be the lighting, tho.

    Looks like high temps melted pad material, which then packed back onto the pads. I'd swap them out, it's cheap insurance, but I always swap pads after a day at the track. (of course, I've only done one or two track days, so easy for me to say!)

    Honestly, if those pads came off my car, I'd be looking for a problem. The lighting isn't good, but I'm seeing some shaded areas and that stuff smeared across the surface of the upper left pad. The surface of the pad should be similar in appearance all the way across. I agree with the possible melted material theory above. Grind 'em off a little and run them some more. I wouldn't be using the same brake pads on the track as I do on the street. Track pads operate in a higher temperature range.

    I got my EBCs backwards. The reds are a hi-performance street pad.

    At that link, they also recommend a 1000mi break-in period. I'd go for some real track day pads (even though it's a PITA to change pads every time you want to run a day).

    maybe on some cars.. but I change the pads and rotors on the CRX in about 20 min... (3 bolts / side ) and I had to take the street wheels/tires off anyway....
