Audi decided that its front bumper wanted to occupy the space my rear bumper was currently occupying. I was in stop and go and she said, "I was driving, then I looked down and then bam." So she got the ticket and the blame.

Man that was a hard hit. She was probably north of 35 and I was stopped. She hit me so hard it broke the drivers seat and you can see her lisc plate numbers imprinted on my rear bumper. The thing has a permanent rearward lean now. I'm pretty sure I had a concussion, taken about 2 hours for it to go away.. My neck hurts too. I'm off to the doctor tomorow morning as I got lots of neck probs already.

(bumper support, moved a few inches, but look at the lack of rust... It's a 96, in CT)

The buckle on the rear pass side is the one that will kill the car.

One, Guess I'm looking for a "respectable" car for real now. Two, Any want a rust free low mileage car... slightly dented.

Sorry man, that sucks. I really hope you end up OK out of this - those neck/back injuries can be killer.

My wife got the same exact thing in her 98 Civic coupe. Same deal, too, with the crinkle forward of the rear wheel - but hers was in the C pillar. I think that once it gets that far forward, it's gone.

Yup, that will be totalled as that dent in the quarter panel means that the right frame rail is all buggered, but can be pulled out 95% once you or someone else buys it back to make a race car.

If you need any guidance on dealing with the insurance companies, I handle both the property damage and bodily injury sides, and used to work in CT so am familiar with their rules, I'd be happy to help.

Ouch! Sorry for your pain. Does it still drive good? Do a buy back from the insurance company and keep driving it. Use the rest of the money to get a toy to play with.

I got to say it though. That should buff right out.

whatever! no wonder health insurance is skyrocketing.

Do a buy back, punch the dent out, continue driving. Or build a Lemons car

I am so sorry to hear you were hit, glad it wasn't worse and the blame fell on the correct party. No doubt you will be sore for a few, take it easy and hope you are feeling better soon! Keep an eye on headaches and let the doc know about them of course.

Ouch! Rear-enders do not make me happy Get checked out by the Doc's, buy the Civic back, fix it and keep on truckin. It's clean and paid for.

...of course if you were in a P71 you wouldn't have even noticed the hit (/sarcasm)

And of course, don't say anything to anybody about 'feeling okay' for a few days. Often these injuries can take some time to manifest, and you don't want to talk your way out of insurance money.

Take care of your Ignorant ass.

Thanks.. It's not going to be too bad dealing with the insuracnce company as the lady and I have the same company.

ohh well... I was going to sell it in CT as a rust free southern car, which it is.. but.. just not straight anymore. :-)

The civic will probably go. I'd like to do a buy back and fix it, but I'm living in an apartment with no real ability to fix it. Hell I sold my tools and all to help finance this move. So... Off to car shopping we go I think.

yeah. I told the lady on the phone I was Ok now, but my neck was starting to hurt so that I would go to the doctor. She noted it and the medical folks are contacting me today.

That doesn't matter, there are statutes of limitation, usually 2 years, where you can change your mind. There are plenty of times where someone tells us that they are fine and then 6 months or a year later we get a letter from their attorney that they are not.

    Glad you're alright.

Make sure you do everything they tell you, and keep doing it from time to time after you stopped going. I went from "not sure you'll do much walking again" to about 95% in about three months thanks to some good therapists

Actually both of you having the same insurance agent is going to be a pain in the butt, (opps there I go again) It's one of the reasons we got screwed on the deal with our old 300Z, that and my wife (GF at the time) just didn't want to argue with them anymore and took the 1500$ payment when the car booked out to about 8k. "Insurance agent = THERE'S NO WAY I'M GIVING YOU THAT MUCH FOR THAT OLD OF A CAR" I said lawyer right then an there, but the missus caved.
