I was a-lookin' at the dates of events in the new calender we got from the wonderful people at Motorsports Marketing and I found that Hyperfest is scheduled on the 19th and 20th of June at Summit Point.
Then - whilst looking up info for the 24 hours of LeMons - I found it is scheduled for the same weekend at Summit Point.
I can only imagine that the LeMons event will be on the Jefferson course, right?
Summit Point is gonna be a really busy place that weekend!
It will be on the Shenandoah Circuit....just not sure of the layout
This sounds like a terrible idea to me. Anyone who's been to a LeMons event knows how fast the paddock fills up. Each team with 4-6 drivers + crew + familes all driving in their own cars is easily 600 additional vehicles, not counting race cars and tow rigs/RVs. Anyone who's been to Hyperfest knows the land grab that happens Friday when all the NASA racers try to claim a good paddock space on the Main circuit plug up all the track roads and block all traffic on Summit Point road. Then add the thousands of spectators that, at least in the past, had parked partially on the Shenandoah circuit plus Drift Nirvana guys on the Washington... That's a formula for a train wreck. I skipped Hyperfest altogether this year on account of how crowded it gets. To add insult to injury, there's never any hot water left for showers!
Just have to take your shower early. Or, head to the Shenandoah circuit. It never seems to run out of hot water (next year might be different, seeing as how there will be more people there).

how positive of the location of LeMons on the Shenandoah? it is WAY too tight to have a bunch of never-ever guys racing out there- barely enough room to go 2 wide- and there is just about zero runoff room. Its going to be like sitting in D.C. traffic the entire race.

Thats what the guys with NASA are saying....Summit will host HyperFest, Jefferson will have HyperDrive and Drifting, Washington is go karts, and Shenandoah will have The LeMons
I've also heard LeMons will be on Shenandoah, straight from Jens Scott. Shen is one of my favorite tracks, but I don't think even on a regular non-Hyperfest weekend the paddock is big enough for a full LeMons field. Maybe they're planning to run a downsized "exhibition" event?
I knew there was speculation for the Shenandoah. The paddock is really small, so is the grid. It'll be interesting to see how this goes. I think itd be a hard track for people to learn if they've never raced before... Oh well, should be good fun!

If things go right...there is either a PDX or EMRA Time Trial on the Shenandoah in April....I plan on entering our preLeMons racer just to learn the track

There's an instructors PDX. My friend is the head instructor, and Ill be doing the clinic in our LeMons too! Im the only one on our team that have raced on the track (in a Vee so it's a lot different), so I may give the LeMons up so somebody else can try. it''ll be fun seein another POS out there with us.

In reply to TTrussell: well, we put our head together unfortunately, (well, 2 of us heading this thing up) we were going to use his '85 Toyota Celica prepared for Rally, that was given to him, but he still wants to use it after the LeMons. All of the drivers on the team are regular SCCA competitors, 2 formula car guys, and 3 ITA guys, so we want to win too. THis would create a problem, and if we looked too professional, the guys car could get crushed due to peoples curse. SO we're backin' out of this one, but we'll probably come up to watch, and we'll enter next year so that way we can find a real LeMon,and go all out on the Zanyness.
