My guess is a Ford Mondeo...old news...

honestly, as awesome as Ford's lineup is overseas, I think they have the best current lineup in the United States. Ford is in a good spot right now, and the upcoming product makes me even more excited.

    Me too.

I am about to buy a car.

I want a Ford. But there is none for me to buy, except out of my range new look mustang GT's

I wish i could see a CEO or COO or whatever, and just convey to him.

Im 24, have good job and have about 10G i want to spend. I want to buy a Used Ford. GIVE ME SOMETHING TO BUY. Cheers!

That said, its a SVTF to save some money, or a SRT-4 to have something that scoots.

Uh.... buying USED doesn't really help Ford. On the other hand, New does. What are you looking for? The old SVT Focus?

BTW, the G8/GTO- how'd that go over? Probably one of the main reasons the car would be coming...

There are a bumch of Fiesta running around for the Fiesta movemnet. I'm seeing more and more of them- I think the all have M plates. I think that's going to be a killer car.

I knew somebody would ask this.

How many people here, while they were younger, found out what car/brand they want, with a used cheap version of said car?

With all the above said, I'm lookin foward to the new fiesta, and the possible future Focus.

fingers crossed on the new focus, until that happens, i'll keep enjoying my newer-focus-than-the-focus-ford-sells mazdaspeed3 while ford takes their time pulling their heads out of their collective hind end. sure hope they can get it together by what is it? 2012? i might even be in the market again by then

Just want to point out that the current Focus is a great car. If you are not trying it just because what you read, you may want to reconsider. Remember, this car was based on the first gen Focus, which was always credited as being a really fine driving car.

Not sure why people think that the car took steps backward, since it's an improvement on what was the class leading chassis.

Thankfully, there are enough people who ignore magazines and car boards that they are selling quite well.

It's $35-38k! The reason Ford doesn't bring it over is because they can't. They've been selling watered-down crap in this market for years and they couldn't push a sedan with that price tag, even if it was worth it.

Maybe in Australia Ford never turned out enough crappy fleet cars to do irreparable damage to their brand image?

Nice car, but I couldn't ever drop $40k on a Ford.

well unfortunately, that chassis is over 10 years old now. they havn't taken steps backward with the focus...they just havn't taken any steps....

this was exactly my point in my post above. ford skipped platform updates on the focus and passed on the mondeo saying they couldn't sell them profitably in the US, all the while Mazda was selling the crap out of the mazda6 and mazda3.

If they can't sell it as a Ford, sell it as a Mazda 8.

I am seriously disappointed in Ford. give up and get used to it.

A funny ford dissapointment story; Back in the early ninties I knew an older couple that had just moved to the US from Scotland due to a corporate transfer. When the man realized that he would be here for a while he decided to buy a car. He saw an add in the newspaper from a local Ford dealer for some good deals on low mile used escort gt's. Needless to say, they were not what he was expecting and he didn't buy one

An old boss of mine, a kart racer, moved here on a corp. move from england many years ago. He always wanted a v8 car and went out and purchased a 5.0 Fox Body 'Stang. He loved the engine, but said the chassis was so poor they wouldn't think of selling it in europe.

Now.. He did go on to drop thousands of dollars in that car and make it capable.

My cousin Roger came over from Scotland in 1998 and did the exact same thing, except he bought a Ford Probe V6 used. He claims it is the lousiest car he has ever owned, but he will not sell it. It seems that every Scot out there hates everything.
