    Working on a car for a friend. ...dropped intake seat, damaging head and piston. The head I can find. The piston, if it's out here, isn't obvious.

    2002 Ford Focus SE, 2.0 SOHC (P code)

    The only listing on any site I've found is at NAPA with no picture. Their part number refers to another year Escort in Rockauto, but that picture doesn't match my piston.

    I've researched this thing virtually all weekend, to the point I'm confusing myself.

    I know this isn't a motorsport question but I've exhausted all my standard routes. If anybody can help me find this piston, it's you folks.

    Help?!?!?

    I found the ones at Rock Auto, too.... i never go by website stock photos. I'd give them a call and verify before ruling them out, as their prices seem the best so far.

    I have found that Fords pistons are rather affordable.

    Unfortunately, for 2002, they only have a listing for the "3" code engine which is DOHC. This one is the SOHC "P" code.

    I agree. MOST Ford stuff I have ever needed has been reasonable. ...except for the electronic ignition module back in '86. (It was nearly $300 back then. Same part now is $20.)

    I'm with John, seems like getting one piston from Ford would be a safe bet.

    www.fordpartsonline.com has them for $38 each. I've ordered from them many times and always gotten great service with very reasonable shipping prices. They indicate that retail (a normal Ford dealership) will charge $46, so that might be cheaper depending on how much shipping is.

    That is basically the SPI engine used in Escort sedans until they stopped production.
