My Daughters friend just got her license and came over to show us her car. Her Uncle bought it new and she always wanted it. There are plenty of newer cars in the parking lot at school but she said none of them are as cool as this.

1971 Mercedes 250C that is dead on original including paint. Garage kept since new...

Hotlinked photo but same car/ same color

I wish I had an uncle like that.

My God I hope she drives better than teenage girl stereotypes. Or any of the ones I've met in person or been in the car with.

    Seriously cool car though.

That car does not belong in a HS parking lot. Entirely too many distracted drivers.

FTFY. Maybe it's because I just watched "Hard Candy" last night...

A neighbor had one of these that had been parked for a few years with some minor issues and couldn't give it way. I SO wanted to take it but had too many other projects in the works. Beautiful car.

But the sad part is the HS kids probably just see it as an old car.

Most do, but there are some that get it. I think the best line was "If they don't get the car, they don't get me...."

I hope my boy finds a girl like that.

Fantastic car. I'd love one of those in high school. Heck I'd love one now. Cool uncle too.

The fact that that car is being driven by a teenager makes me VERY VERY sad.

Hey now, teenagers aren't ALL retarded.

The vast majority, yes, but a few are smart enough to appreciate things.

My car was considered one of the coolest cars in the Lot, cause it was the closest thing to a classic as was around then. Most kids were either rednecks with diesels, preppy kids with newer cars, or the "whatever we could afford" set.

It was a 15ish year old car at the time, but it was in good shape. Alot of people I knew in school, when they see me now, the first thing they ask about is that car. It's a big part of how people know me, I could never get rid of that thing.

I disagree. I figure if she has the appreciation for the car in the first place, she will take care of it.

I have a friend who daily drives a 1973 Super Beetle to high school, there is another kid who has a 1968 Mustang, and oh course I have the Stag (well if it ever runs)

Not highjacking the thread, but when I was in highschool, I had the coolest car out of the entire school (as I was told by my peers), I had a '65 Chevelle Malibu 4-door. It was faded Artisan Green with rusted out quarters.

Also, I went to a highschool with 300 kids.
