Why isn't this for sale a year ago when it would have been in my price range, and only an hour away....so does any one want a kidney, because this is one of my dream cars

Whoa.
That thing is drop dead gorgeous...except for the doofy rear spoiler. What model / chassis code is that BMW??? I don't think I have ever seen one in person.

I've been chasing E9s since I was a teenager. They always seem to be just beyond my reach..
That thing is beautiful, but I can't help but notice there's no closeup pix on the common rust areas on those cars. They're like E-Type Jags..if you get a rusty one, you'll spend $10K to save a $6K car. That being said, I'm looking at how much I can borrow from my 401k..
The rear spoiler is actually a period piece (or a repro) of some of the aero pieces the factory used when they were raced.
EDIT: racer_ace, my apologies. I was so stoked about the car that I didn't even notice the rear lip you were talking about, I though you were talking about the roof cup. Yeah, that looks a little dodgy, but I still wouldn't kick it out of the garage!
