Probably not, it's a fairly common swap in England, V8 swaps here in the US are the more generally accepted method...

Yes, it's almost traditional here to stick one of the Ford V6s into one that's been equipped with a four banger. The 2.9 Cosworth is quite a decent engine, too, with approx 200bhp in stock form.
To find the reason why V8 swaps aren't massively popular over here, visit any gas station in Western Europe
