Dropped my subie flywheel off at NAPA at 11:00. Called at 12:00 to come pick it up. $60 out the door. Here is some machined flywheel porn.
And one picture of the 81 Schwinn that a friend gave me for my birthday, for good measure!

Preeeetty.
I hope it turns out well, the one my dad had done at napa chattered so bad he had to replace the clutch (and the flywheel with a new one from carquest) in less than a year.
That would depend on the machinist, not NAPA. The guy who did my flywheel was a one man band in the machine shop out back. Some old guy who has probably cut flywheels more times than we have picked our nose, combined.
yeah we got a awsome machinist at our napa also - have had a lot of work done by him..
Uhh, aren't you missing a locating pin there?
When I picked up my Subie flywheel from the machine shop, he was just sending the NAPA guy out the door with a piece. He apologized that it cost so much ($50), but said that there was some extra fancy stuff he had to do to keep the Subie flywheels from chattering when he surfaced them.
It's a beautiful sight, isn't it?

Hmm... to go off topic a bit, most Subaru flywheel/clutch chatter issues are actually caused by the input shaft the throwout bearing rides on being worn, in case you have chatter issues still ;)
my '02 subaru chattered with less than 5k on it. They replaced the flywheel and clutch and no more problems.
Yeah my input shaft has some play in it, but that's expected when it's done 298k miles.
My other subaru which had 230k miles had some chatter in first gear when it was cold. I figured it was a bad clutch, but am reconsidering the diagnosis after some of your comments!
As for the locating pin... that's what I thought too. It kind of weirded me out at first when I got it back. However, when the pressure plate is bolted up, the third hole mates up to a location with no slot for a pin. Go figure!
