Congrats - I've loved your car since I saw your link to your build thread!

since the contest was open to anyone and everyone, the FMV on those parts is FREE and you can put them all on a $2010 Challenge car. and you've still got $2010 available for purchases and $1005 in recoup. that's a pretty good start to a challenge car, but you still won't beat PACC Racing in the drags...

Congratulations. That's an insane list of free stuff. The picture rocks, too.

I recently was told that I won the RaceRamps contest here @ GRM. That is really exciting since I just bought a house and have no extra monies for garage luxuries right now.

Congrats! The RaceRamps are very cool!

I suggest a detailed installation diary including high res pictures be submitted to someone at Motorsports Marketing ;)

Are you thinking GRM marketing? A couple weeks after the winning pic was taken at a NASA event at Sebring I ran into David Wallens at a NASA event at Palm Beach International. He took a bunch of pics of the car in the pits, hot pits, and probably on track as well.

I've done installation/build threads before and have been documenting everything the past few years anyway on most of the stuff I do. Here's a link to a build thread on the cage and safety equipment install. http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48151

Now here's an idea!!!! I've got this 66 Mustang I built the engine/drivetrain for but could never afford to finish thats just sitting in my driveway. Hmmmmm

John Hotchkis is a good guy. I met his dad and he when they ran GTP. He is really into the Grassroots scene!!!

Nothing against them as a matter of fact Ilike them AGAINST ME!!

The car was an Esprit model I started with and I used to get grief from purists occasionally. I would then explain that I didn't do that to an original 70 Trans Am as it was NOT A TA but that it was a sort of clone type car. I decided to get the plate so I could just point to the plate and they'd get it. I don't have those plates anymore, registered in FL a couple days after the pics were taken.

What size are your tires/wheels? I'm finishing up the build on my 71 Firebird and one of my last purchases will be wheels and tires. I really like like the looks of yours. Great stance too!

It was the GRM sticker that put you over the top! I kid, congratulations on the big win, that is a ton of cool stuff and it sounds like it will go to good use!

275 40 17 and 315 35 17 on 9.5" front rims with 5.5" backspacing and 11" rear with 6.75" backspacing. Everything is very close in the rear with no wheelwell mods and now that I've gotten a bit better as a driver I need a panhard bar to keeping the inner sidewalls from touching when cornering on track. Fronts touch the fat Hotchkis swaybar at full lock but are fine driving as long as you're not turning to full lock. Be very cautious if you want to try this combo on stock wheelwells without even rolling the lip. Measure your car 10 times before you order the wheels to be sure.

Car has springs, sways, tierod adjusters and Bilsteins from Hotchkis and Global West Del-A-Lum control arm bushings in stock arms as well as a set of subframe connectors. Nothing exotic, expensive, or fancy. I don't even have tubular upper arms because no one was making them yet when I did the suspension install.

Ya Ya Ya! I'm enjoying my 15 minutes of fame! I'm hoping maybe I get something to try at the next event down at Homestead. You see me put 4 off at Sebring last time? Man I need some new REAL tires up front. Those temporary ones I got in town the morning after after the winning photo was taken in June are still on the car! Street tires are just not cutting it!

Thanks! They are great prizes! And donated by really good companies. Flowmaster, Hotchkis, MSD, Yokohama, Redline, Hot wheels, and Baer are all known by most of the members here I'm sure. The last company Rushforth Wheels may not be as well recognized.

Rushforth Wheels is a relatively new company owned by Jason Rushforth. I don't know if he's a member here but Jason is our kind of guy. (I'll tell him to come check out the forum) He bought a cool old 60's Buick this year. A very stock looking car in nice original condition with a 300 and a powerglide. He put a few bolt ons on it (including Rushforth wheels of course!) and went right out and started autocrossing it! With the original engine and 2 speed powerglide!
