So I bought this car off of craigslist. The guy said $750, runs fine. I get there, it doesn't run,... at all,... and of course I still hand him the $750 and call a tow truck. 2 months later I finally get a chance to build on it. And now, with just a starter and a new carb, I have a running and fully functional 1972 Lincoln Continental Mark IV.
The exhaust rusted off the back of the car, so I cut it down to the collectors and added some side facing glasspacks. The cops have yet to pull me over for the 92dB exhaust system. And trust me, the 12mpg 460 has enough noise racketing your brain to make everyone stop and turn. That and the hideous puke green color of it.
Now I love Grassroots Motorsports Magazine. I make sure I grab every issue I can find. And I've always followed the racing scene and lead the most of my friends in with me. And a kid at my work (Space Coast Bullets, LLC) noticed the flashy photos and asked what it was all about. I told him I have interest in joining this years 2009$ Challenge with my Monte Carlo. He was extremely interested. So on we go and on we build.
We are at the point where we are almost finished with the projects and going to be posting the build sites soon. But I will inform you of this:
Due to financial circumstances, and bad engine parts, the Monte Carlo will not be joining us in our 2009$ Challenge.
The Lincoln took a step in to take it's place.
