(a "to sell or not to sell" story)

Over the years I have accumulated a lot of Miata stuff: turbo car, V8 car, hardtops, wheels, this and that parts and stuff.

I am "old and prosperous" (as my doctor says) so getting in and out of the daily driver V8 (Kirkey seat - the best improvement ever made!) is becoming a chore. I use the car to cart my Mom around - she can barely get in and out (but loves the acceleration and chants "Zoom-Zoooom" when getting on the highway) without a lot of help.

Sell both cars and maybe go to the "ultimate drivng experience"??

Keep the V8 and try to get something cheepcheep I can tolerate to cart the Mom around? after the V8 Miata, what could satisfy???

Get the Mom a helmet? (Not really an option)

Anyone need a really cool pile of stuff?

Yes, MIata has been the answer for a long while. I'd like some comfort, a/c, practicallity, and maybe a change.

Any ideas? Any offers? Any solutions?

OK, thanks for the therapy . . . ideas appreciated.

Trade you a big comfortable car and $500 for the lot

I like my Miata, but my old and prosperous knees not so much.

I recently test drove a MINI and found it offered just as much fun factor in a slightly more grown up package with a more upright seating position. I intend to trade in my Miata on one in the near future.

Why not change the seat to something more accessible? Your post reads to me that you like the car and all your complaints center around ingress/egress. So solve that.

Or go with an e36 m3. They're pretty cool.

There's a MINI in the bosses fleet at FM. It's been taken on the track once, then it was abandoned for the Miatas.

Keith, thanks for the thoughtful response. I can deal w/ crawling in and out (or could change seat) but that doesn't help my Mom.

E36 sounds reasonable if I could sell the turbo car. It is the "zaradnick" car - Cardell built supermotor, linksys, FM suspension and needs TLC. Maybe you know someone looking for a good start on a fast car (152+ @ Bonneville).

That would let me keep the V8 (I love it!) even though it is not quite civilised.

    Appreciate the input . . . .

The Zaradnick car was at FM when I first started work, I remember it well. If you want to list it on our site, drop us a line.
