So my girlfriend got me an iPhone as a present. I was pretty skeptical. Until, that is, I started coming across some of the really cool car related apps you can install. One app uses the internal accellerometer to measure camber angles and track car setup. The other uses the motion sensors to act as a virtual dynamometer, showing accelleration & max lateral force. Apple is obviously gonna make a pretty penny off of me when I buy all these apps.

In an effort to not buy every single damn application out there, does anyone have any favorites, or, on the other hand, apps that have proven to be complete E36M3?

Jelly Car is free. Get it. It has nothing to do with motorsports: it's just the best app ever. Period--NO--I take that back.

Bargain bin is a free app that shows you sales and when apps go free by catagory.

Dynolisious is good, I have been playing with the "log box" data ( I don't have an iphone but I might get a ipod touch) Thus far I haven't been terribly impressed with the real data the log box app spits out but, that may be a function of how the iphone was carried in the car.

Roller Coaster phyiscs is a neat little free app that graphs data from your acceleromoters and you can send the data via e-mail.

a3DTrack HUD is interesting to play with on road trips. Allows you to set speed limits and it will warn you if you exceed those and it will tell you if you're getting close to a speed camera.

RepairPal is interesting since it checks the quoted repair price against a database to ensure they aren't ripping you off.

G-meter by Trackpedia is a nice, simple g-meter app. Worked great when I took it to the SkidCar school.

I'm excited for version 3.0 of the software sinc eit will allow developers to build apps that can make use of the dock connector. This could lead to more interesting data logging applications, not too mention controlling your media in different ways, etc.

OK, so we drank the iPhone Koolaid the other day and now I have one in my pocket. I'm going to look into the links above, but are there any other motorsports-friendly apps that people like? Or even just bits of super awesomeness that no iPhone user should be without?
