Sooooo, this thing is nice. The big surprise is how easy it is to drive slow. It doesn't feel very uncivilized to me. It's actually quite comfortable, and has lots of cool little things, like the HUD.

Let's look at some positives vs the RX-8:

    1. Torque

    2. HP

    3. MPG

    4. Sound

    5. Badass

    6. Insurance is less (!)

    And some negatives:

    1. Tires=$$$

    2. Unwanted attention

    3. Interior is slightly worse. No heated seats, etc.

    4. Transmission has nothing on the RX-8's

More pics to follow when it's not dark.

    Excellent choice

I hate it when big horse v8's follow me home. I'd be glad to take that one from you, so it doesn't keep following you places. Won't even charge you anything.

You should have seen the sad look on the previous owner's face when I was driving off....

Car put down 372 HP and 358 lb-ft when it was last dynoed. I think I shall be satisfied with these power levels for now. In the future, I may go OVER 9000!

I've read aftermarket shifters do good things for these cars. I'm guessing yours is stock as of now?

Nice - you know you did well then the seller cries just a little when you pull away!

Well, the one time I was pulling away and the seller had tears of joy didn't work out so well.

The impromptu jig the seller did after I gave him the cash and signed the title should have been a dead giveaway about how bad the car was going to wind up being.

Sometimes, when a buyer is driving away, I like to do one of those make-a-fist-and-pull-down-while-squatting-and-mouthing-YES! gestures just to screw around with them.

Does this make me a bad person?

Not so effective when you look back and see him laughing so hard he can't stand up

The car has the stock shifter installed, but came with an aftermarket short shifter. I'm not sure what brand. The previous owner said that he didn't like the noise it made while installed.

Nice! This is about the only American production car I would buy. Flame suit on.

This car feels the way I've wanted all of the other cars I've modified to feel. It's hard to explain. I don't regret spending money on this car; I really wish I had bought one sooner, to be honest.

Are you saying the MPG is better in the Corvette than the RX8? If so then by how much? Just curious.

    Followed you home?
Was it the sort of creepy half hidden guy with the receding hairline? Is he what followed you home?

He looks a little familiar; maybe I saw him in the Post Office or maybe with John Walsh.

Hwy mileage on the vette should be at least 30% better...

Highway mileage on my 6spd LT1 was well over 30 mpg. At 110 to 120 kph.

The Z06 has averaged around 17mpg since I got it, with me "exploring" the fun level. It should be good for high 20's on the highway and high teens, low 20's in town. The RX-8 would get 16mpg mixed driving. There were times that I would only get 200 miles to a tank of gas if I were stuck in traffic.

Oh yeah, it's not a receding hairline; it's a killer widow's peak that I didn't discover until I had to get a military haircut. My nickname was Super Saiyan Vegeta during basic. What's really awesome is that I look very young for my age, 28, and I've caught people giving me some really dirty looks in the day that I've owned it so far. Keep an eye on your daughters, this dude is coming for them if he can't drive his new car for some reason.

Cool car. Its on my list. I drove one at GM new car promo on autocross style course. WFO in 1st & 2nd. I was hooked. Also attended an SCCA workshop, one of the classes had a Z06 on a portable chassis dyno (Backstreet Performance,I think). The car had syn oil, trans fluid & diff fluid. It was putting out 375 whp. Is that pic in Irag?

    Congrats on the choice.

Personally, meh. I have worked on too many of them. All of them are a PITA, even an oil change is a pull your hair out experience.

Nice ride. I'll have a 'vette some day; maybe to run in NASA ST1 or 2.
