Don't know if anyone watched Leno tonight (the new show at 10pm)....Anyhow, looks like one of the new recurring things they're going to do on the show is a bit of a knockoff of Top Gear "star in a reasonably priced car" but on a smaller scale.

They have a little go-kart-ish looking track setup outside the studio. The car used is a Focus all-electric model (I think) setup with a cage/harnesses,etc. the celeb guest does 2 laps of it, speeds look like a smallish autocross. First lap is just a regular lap. 2nd lap there are various distractions that appear (carboard cutout of Al Gore on the track, confetti, etc..).

Anyhow, was kind of fun to watch and not surprising considering leno's interest in all things automotive.

Drew Barrymore actually drove pretty well/aggressively I'd say and set the "baseline" time for future guests. And I'm pretty sure I saw her get in the car to drive wearing the same 4 or 5" heels and tight skirt that she was wearing in the studio..hmm...

Also, the Focus BEV looked pretty good actually....

edit: just found this on Motortrend..

I just watched that. Drew Barrymore did pretty good in her heels. The Focus did look good, and it was pretty entertaining. My mom said they should get hammond, jeremy and james to try Jay's track out. haha

I am watching tonight for the 3rd time. It has yet to keep my attention for a full hour.
I am personally starting my own campaign of logging into his garage website during his show. I figure this way he will see that people are making other choices during his show and hopefully he will see that I would rather see a show with cars.

Streamers cutout characters and flying balls need to go.

yeah, I go there pretty often too....though I think the show is decent, at least as good as his old show, and FAR better than Conan's lame show. I liked Conan better late-late, when it was more quirky.

"I have a feeling he might actually TRY to hit the Al Gore cutout " Hopefully that will activate the airbag and blow his head off his shoulders, now that would be GREAT TV!
