My Father has a mid-2000s Jetta TDi that he wants to upgrade the rims from the stock 15 inchers.. every website he goes to says that they do not stock rims for the TDi.. is there something different in the hubs of the oilburner, or did they just not bother testing to see of their rims fit?

He is not looking for anything radical.. just a +1 set up to 16inchers. I suggested take offs from a regular Jetta/Golf/GTi.. but this has him a bit stumped

Tirerack.com and Tires.com show wheels available for TDIs.

I have never seen a difference between a TDi and a gas Jetta, same chassis.

Mid 2000 - should be a 5 X 100 and somewhere around 40 mm offset. Tons of vehicles use that:

Just tell them it's a 2000 Jetta and they'll stop being stupid.

    Unless he meant mid-2000s as a 2006, then it's 5x112 from there on. 1999.5-2005 are 5x100. Earlier (1992-) VR6 cars are 5x100.

Yep, they used the exact same wheels as the regular Jetta of similar years.

I am not sure of the year.. but I know his G/F just got a Jetta TDi Sport Wagon and the rims fit his car.. so it must be a 2006 then?

I keep telling him to steal her rims.. but I think the last time he brought it up..something was thrown at him

The new ones are 5 X 112. Your list just got way shorter:

Tell me about it. I used to have a Passat and my wife now has a 2010 Golf Wagon. Both are 5 X 112. You can find tons of wheels that are 5 X 100, but pretty well only German cars are 5 X 112 and even then not that many of them.
