I am thinking about going to a junkyard this weekend and I need some advice about parts to look for. First, how do I tell if a turbo is a T3 pattern? Second, what cars might have a turbo which would be sized right for a Civic D-series (I think I remember hearing Saab's work well)? Also any cars to keep and eye out for to get a radiator for? Third, what are good seats which will bolt into a '96 Civic? Fourth, what are the different sizes of Integra swaybars (should I just find a GS-R)?

Edit: that should have get an intercooler from not get a radiator for. I should read before hitting post.

One key thing to keep in mind in a junkyard is to keep your eyes open for cars that look modified. I got the engine for my car FC RX-7 out of an FB model. Someone had done an engine swap and the only telltale sign was a boost gauge on the A-pillar.

A T-3 turbo flange is rectangular, with these dimensions: http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/tk030p.jpg

The Saab turbos would work well. If you want to go a little smaller, the Probe GT/MX6 GT turbos would work nicely as well, but they're IHI flange.

MR2 Turbo/Celica AllTrac CT26 would do as well, but they're twin entry CT flanged.

The Supra CT26 might be a little large for a mild build D-banger.

When i have junkyard specifics i need, i print a shopping list. In the case of the turbo flange, print a 1:1 scale outline of the pattern as a reference. Ditto on scales to use for measuring swaybars, or measurements and a drawings for your seats and radiator.

Only certain years of Saab turbos have a t3 flanged turbo right? Which years are these? Also I may be able to get a T3/T4 turbo for cheap, would this work or lag a lot?

It could work, or it could lag alot. It could be capable of a mere 180whp, or 700whp.

To say it without me continuing to be a douchenozzle like above.... More info is necessary.

I guess the size would be a little useful. I will find out soon as I see the guy again.

Yeah, sizes might help. Housing size, wheel size, trim, etc etc etc.

It's probably just a generic Ebay T3/T04e or something. It would probably be fine.
