Found what appears to be a clean BMW in Long Island. I want to get a Pre-Purchase Inspection before I seriously consider going to look at it. Anyone know of a reputable shop that can look over a 2001 BMW 540i/6?
If anyone would be interested in doing a drive by to meet the guy and look at the car, I'd make it worth your while.

Where is this LI Auto? (Google is useless for me.) If this is the "Walter" I am thinking of (used to own Tyrolean in Huntington, Amity VW, and the Jag place in Hicksville) you could be tapping into one of the best BMW minds on the Island.
Sounds like the same guy, nice guy on the phone, and seems to know all the 540 issues we discussed. I'm going to call and set up an appointment today.

The owner used to work for Autosport in Huntington. His prices are very reasonable and quality is excellent.
The shop gave a thumbs up on the car but I won't be able to get up there to look at it myself. I'd feel a lot better buying it sight unseen if a GRMer took a look at it with another set of impartial eyes.
