    Not mine, etc.

If my wife wouldn't kill me, I'd be dragging this home by now...

That looks like it'd be a good mid engined Locost donor.

I don't know any specs and since it's a 1976 the power is bound to be way down.

Its basicly a big, heavy slow x1/9 with really expensive parts. Stock they arent too exciting, but you can make them fast and handle better. its worth alot more than $140 or whatever the bid is now though.

Per the ad - "solid car for a Scorpion".

That alone would make me run away, quickly.

The seller admits the driver's side floor pan is rusted and the passenger side has been replaced - well, duh, it's a Lancia.

Plus, it's a New England car - read that as a rust-prone vehicle dwelling in an area vilified for judicious use of road salt.

Scorpions are potentially cool cars, but probably not this one.

Damn. I've always wanted a Scorpion and I've even towed cars home from that town before.

Even though that's probably a parts car, you've got me watching the auction, just in case I ever buy a better Scorpion. Damn.

with only 1803 imported.. I would be hesitant to part one out or make a locost donor out of any car that could be restored and made better.

They are rather simple cars, with a lot less rust traps than the smaller X.

I think I saw that car in an add from a desert location. I could be totaly wrong however.

In addition to a bunch of missing parts, there's an awful lot of wires hanging out of that car.

    It was also originally gold.

    I still say it's a parts car.

But I'm still watching the auction, too...

Wires are not a big deal. Again, it is a simple car and easily rewired to be better (ie.. making good grounds)

As for power.. the Scorpion only had about 80hp in the states

Parts car. Not worth restoring when you can buy a nice one for a few thousand. You'd probably do pretty well parting that out since the pieces are unique and hard to come by. Drivetrain stock is a snoozer but they respond well to turbos.
