I just got back from my friend's shop and I thought I'd share their latest Big Brothers project.

They're starting to restore a 1984 BMW 318. They plan on doing some autocrossing and track days with it but keeping it street legal. Although I'm not currently matched with a Little Brother, since my two teenaged Daughters tend to keep me busy enough, I try to get together at least once a week with my buddy and his Little.

In any case I thought I'd share tonights' progress.

I have similar aspirations for my '87 325is.
Would your friend be willing to take on another "not-so-little"?
    Very cool.

Are they putting that motor back in or swapping power plants?

Cool project both the car and the volunteering...

They're pulling the engine and trans in order to do a "light" rebuild. Part of the objective is to pass on knowledge so the car will be torn right down and then rebuilt, while sticking to a tight budget.

Very cool; it gives me some inspiration on what to do with my Little, albeit at a smaller scale.
