Looking at swapping the Corrado out for a '93 Talon TSI. What do you think of them? The PO just had the 60K service completed and the body is in good shape. Its an automatic :(, but at least the automatics for the most part weren't ran hard as the standards by launches and stuff. I know they have a reputation of being trouble, but I have a Corrado I have drove less than 2000 miles in 2years, which is worse???

Depends which corrado.... G60 or SLC? Auto or Manual?
I wouldn't do it, but that's just me.
And by the way... it's RIDICULOUS how hard an auto one of those can launch, just as an FYI. Not that i've tried or anything.

See crank. See crank walk. Walk crank, walk.
I've had 2 Talon TSi's, one stock and another modded, both were excellent and I want another someday. Honestly I enjoyed the stock one more (Black/Silver 2-tone, 50K miles, 5-Speed) as it was quick yet low-key looking and very reliable. The modded one (BRIGHT Red, turbo swap, 5-Speed) was fast as all get-out but tended to break stuff.

I dislike mine. Its the slow one, but handling wise, it sucks. It pushes... so much.

oh btw, i don't think the crankwalk issues are there on the auto equipped cars, what i understand is that was caused by the high loads from the throwout with heavily-sprung pressure plates.

Regardless, it wasn't an issue on the 1993 the the OP is talking about.

My firend absolutely loves his '95 TSi. His is an AWD car, though, and unfortunately the Eagle trim codes don't specify AWD vs FWD how the Mitsubishi trim codes do (GS-T vs GS-X).

the talon I'm looking at is an AWD model with an auto trans.

from what I've read the 6 bolt blocks are considerably more well built than the 7 bolts,. Any one else have a take on this?

Well.... in that the 6 bolts don't seem to suffer from the "Crank walk" issues, which are often misdiagnosed anyways.
But yes. 6 bolt is generally seen as better, and i would be inclined to agree.
A lot of guys around here do 6 bolt swaps into the 2nd gen DSMs.

Does anyone have a decent 4G63t head/valves they want to sell? The stuff on ebay seems overpriced, I haven't found any in local pick and pulls, and trying to sign up for the DSM classifieds/forums is like trying to hack the pentagon.
I hope I didn't just land on an FBI watch list for typing "hack the pentagon"!
