Aside from it being a restyled M-B and the back end looking like a dog hunched to take a E36 M3.

Dodge dealers don't know how to service them and M-B dealers won't. That's my top reason for not showing them any interest.

A good friend of mine had one for a while, had a reoccurring air pump problem which would trip the check engine light, no problem to be found (guess its common). He had ball joints and control arm bushings go bad with like 60,000 miles total on it.
They are very good at doing donuts, the srt-6 is a different animal altogether and there is not much out there that does worse in the snow, they are low light rwd with fat tires. Tires are pricey.
They are a bargain MB but maintenance is Mercedes dealer, chry garages get lost on it. Takes like 7 or 8 quarts of full synthetic every oil change. (think quick-lube was charging him $150 for an oil change) decent stock stereo, nice ride, non impressive mpg, decent pickup (Believe they are a mid 14 1/4 mi car). For the right price I would be happy with a manual transmission or a srt-6. They also sit low, passengers sit low.

Local dealer has an 07, 30k, 6spd, $11k.
Tire rack shows the 18"/19" combo to be VERY exspensive(1 rear is the same as all 4 14" tires on the neon
) But if you look under "snow packages" 17" will fit over the brakes.

Take it for a test drive. Check the bottom drains in the doors, they have a tendency to rust.
My buddy bought one of those crappy warranties through the dealer, against my advice, and made out well with his crossfire. Comparing his receipts when he had it, he was about $1500 into the dealer warranty with about $5500 in repairs covered. They are generally reliable and well built but will cost you when something breaks.

A friend of mine has the SRT6 version and its been quite an eye opener. He added a CAI and a few minor mods. Regularely does track days with it and it is fast, handles well and is well suited to all kinds of rwd, high hp antics. Its been very reliable and has elicited favorable comments from the Porsche, EVO, WRX guys that he frequently dusts at the track. Good car at a great price.

There are lots of electronics and I'm sure MB specific tools, I was looking over crossfireforums for you but got distracted by a twin-charged srt6

Unfortunately, the only one worth owning is the SRT6, and as it only comes with an automatic transmission, I shall never own one.
Otherwise I kind of like them.

It makes a lot of noise but via the speedo that thing is slow as balls!! I have no idea what's going on there, but that did NOT look remotely fast. Sounded great, though, and im not disputing that SRT-6s ARE fast cars..

They are orphans. I worked for both Chrysler and M-B, the techs for both brands hate them with a passion. Typical M-B, they are about five times as complicated as they need to be making it difficult for the average schlub to work on in his driveway.
I don't like the aesthetics or the ergonomics (the Jensen is easier to get in and out of) either, but that's completely subjective. The SRTs I drove were pretty frickin' quick.

One of my regular detail customers had a base model Crossfire, and was so sick of it in the first year she traded it for a used and abused SN-95 Mustang V6/Auto convertible worth about half of the Crossfire if that says anything. She's been completely satisfied with the Mustang.
