The biggest change on the Magnum from the A block is a roller cam, new head design, and they dropped the shaft mount rockers. If you get a 5.2(318) or 5.9(360) magnum, edelbrock, and probly a few others have Carb manifolds available

How hard is it to get a Magnum EFI engine to fit in the dart?

It bolts right in. The Magnum motors still have the old LA motor mount ears on the blocks. You'll need a V8 K-member & 340/360 mounts (or modify/shim a 318 mount) or a set of conversion mounts to use a slant six K.

If you use an early trans (727 or 904 Torqueflite or an 833 4-speed) they bolt right up. Using the later automatic overdrive truck trans will require major tunnel surgery. The 5-speed truck trans is even worse.

The EFI stuff would be the same as any other retrofit. You could pull most from a wrecked truck that donated the motor or go Megasquirt. You'll need EFI fuel lines and an electric pump.

You'll need to do a little rewiring on the Dart too with the high amp Maggie alternator juicing the car. Nothing earth shattering, but doing it before hand is better than having to replace a fried harness later.

If the transmission came off a V8. Slant Six bellhousing bolt patterns are different.

Yep, I forgot to mention that part. I was stuck thinking V8's.
