Well after having a shop sit on my car for two weeks without touching it and repeatedly lying to me about it, it seems as tho im going to have to replace the torque converter in my wifes car myself. While I have done a couple of clutch and flywheel jobs myself, Ive never tackled an automatic trans before. Any tips or tricks to working on BMW autos? Any pitfalls to watch out for? Should I run away?

It's just like a manual, just have to remember that you have to remove the converter bolts/nuts before you should get all the BH bolts out. Basically if it attaches to the trans externally, remove it.

Just be sure to remove the TC with the transmission. When installing the new unit, be sure the pump drive tabs lock in.
