Well....... I set up with the owner to go today to see the car and put a deposit on it. He called me late last night to tell me that he sold it out from under me. I understand first come first served, but I thought that we had an agreement that he was going to hold it for us. So I guess the search continues.....

That may be for the best... Something on those cars that hasn't aged well is the lack of safety equipment.... 1)no air bags 2)no anti lock brakes

Not sure I would want a first timer tooling around in something like that. You see, my 17 year old son is looking for his first car.......

My sister bought a 1970 Gremlin, the first year they made them. Big six and a 3 speed auto. She drove it for nearly 15 years! Only sold it when the body just got to rusty. The drivetrain never let her down and got OK fuel mileage. It was just an honest car, easy to maintain, easy and cheap to fix.

Look on the bright side, it's not like he'll be able to knock up a cheerleader if he drives a Gremlin.

I sold my '76 Camaro for a near new '83 Rabbit and my favorite feature was the Rabbits reclining front seats and complete lack of a obtrusive center console.
I managed to avoid the knocking up but not for a lack of trying.

360, 390, 401 all bolt in with very little difficulty.

They are retarded fast with even the low-compression smog-dog 401's
