Full opposite lock u turns on public roads, a foot off your back bumper with the high beams on 10 mph over the speed limit when the traffic in other lanes is too heavy and slow to merge and let them by, 75 mph passes in a blind corner with a raised middle finger out the window on a 25 mph road, full throttle as soon as someone in an adjacent lane turns their turn signal on, etc. I think there was already a post about this actually. The more good drivers who own them the better, but I very much dislike the driving habits of many of the people attracted to the hemi era mopars.

That sounds like pretty much every shiny happy person I've ever dealt with on the road, and very few of them were in dodges of any kind.

Funny, I just got back from lunch where an SRT-10 truck was sitting inches from my bumper, peeling out at every light, weaving through traffic, etc....

Here we go with stereotypes again....shiny happy persons drive all kinds of different vehicles....

I am with the people with the Ram stereotype. 90% of the time when I have someone riding my bumper it is a late model Dodge.

It may be the fact that I have legs like Kate Moss, but I found the clutch unbearably heavy

What the E36 M3? Why don't we get cool crap like this but the Mexicans do?

And I had the same thing happen with a BMW earlier today. I guess that means it applies to all bimmer owners.

    faster than a syclone?

  • Vigo

    Is that a serious question?

The Syclone can brake-boost and AWD launch like a mofo (until the stock 4l60 breaks) but from a roll an srt-10 ram would easily walk away. we're talking about basically a 100% power difference and the ram traps ~10mph higher in the 1/4 mile.

Thats STOCK though. We all know it's pretty easy to turn up a turbo AWD car and actually hook it up.. Gains are not as easy on the ram.

I'll go along with the ram stereo typing... I live in the redneck rivera and we've got our share of pickup trucks (in my local family we've got 3 s10's and a full sized chebby)... and while you'll see idiots in all sorts the ram guys tend to be the biggest d-bags...

that being said... I still love how they look... I caught a bit of Walker tx ranger the other day with him in his 90's "new ram"... I was in HS when that body came out and I was such a sucker for it... lol.

not much to add... but I think they are kewl trucks but not for me... for the real posure though you should look at the rumble bee... all of the "look at me" you can get... know a few guys who own em... and they fit the ram stereotype to a T

A truck with three guys sitting shoulder-to-shoulder across the cab.

It slows down, the window rolls down and one of the three guys yells "FAG!" at one guy walking by himself down the road.

The truck had those rubber nuts hanging off the back as well.

My typical response is to yell "I love you!" at them. Hasn't gotten me into TOO much trouble yet.

The srt10 honestly sounds like a useless vehicle with no purpose other than showing off. You can't tow, can't haul, all it does is haul ass. I'd take a ram truck with the cummins/6 speed over a "sport" truck any day.

This brings up the point of people who get a truck then lower it and put 20" rims on it. You didn't get a utility vehicle to use it as a tool, got it to show off. I have much more respect for a beaten truck than a flawless shiny one, without a scratch in the bed.

Nailed it. SRT10 is to Redneck as Ferrari is to Banker. That should be on the SAT.

And what's so wrong about that? The RAM SRT-10 served it's purpose . . . to be the fast truck in the world. No different than any other car out there . . . If we were all interested in using vehicles as a tool (which they are nothing more than that), then we would all be driving vanilla appliances . . . . Eh . . . I guess to each his/her own.

You must be referring to the crappy one. There is a reason i said the quad cab was 1000000000% better.

then we would all be driving vanilla appliances

I have several of those and some that are closer to brown. 4 blue ones too.

Gen 2 Lightning is much better IMO. It can actually tow stuff and is only a blower pulley away from mega-HP...if you can keep the spark plugs in

put thread inserts in and change the pulley on the lightening. and eh hemmmm!!! i had an f150 lowered on 18s and 20's and guess what it did tow. had air bags we inflated in the back so we could but otherwise truck was purely a sporttruck. would smoke the tires clear through second and chirp 3rd that was 305 50 r 20's truck got 12 mpg no matter how you drove it. 10k trailer behind it or not. only prob we ever had was a flying rock that broke the intercooler.

    Fixed.

Seriously, guys... If you cant figure out how to tow something reasonable without breaking your full size pickup you are a tard. Given the nature of the truck's trans and clutch (in a very GENERAL sense, not what *they say*) i wouldnt try pulling more than ~5-7k with the manual, but does that not even count as towing or what? You guys are looking to the bought not built crowd for advice on the failure modes of parts they dont even know how to get to and treating it as the gospel truth. That's just dumb.

If you're that worried about it, get the quad cab, it's vastly more useable EVEN IF you dont buy into the factory's CYA towing ratings and wrongly assume it cant tow E36 M3 either. But i guess since we're on a baseless roll we might as well claim the auto cant tow for E36 M3 either since there aren't any 518 derivatives holding 600 lb ft in the world, let alone ~700 with a 3yr warranty, let alone the 1200+ lb ft some modded Cummins put through one..

Since we are talking about Viper motors, I happen to like where this one sits.
