Holy cow! I remember watching Eddie Hill in Top Fuel as a kid in Gainesville for the Gatornationals. It is really nice to know that he is still racing, and turning corners now to boot!

    Welcome Eddie!

WOW! THE Eddie Hill!! That's amazing. I remember being very sad when he explained how hard it was to keep the TFD anywhere close to the minimum class weight without making everything out of $$$ material. Eddie and Ercie were a fixture on the strip for a long time. Gotta love that we was the fastest man on water but couldn't swim!

    Welcome!

Awesome! Saw him out at Hallett running his ATOM at a track day, but I didn't want to bother him to say hi.

Favorite Eddie story, which I remember from American Sports Cavalcade I think, so that is a while ago. Memory could be iffy, but here goes. Eddie and crew chief Fuzzy Carter were running top fuel drag boats, and Eddie had a vicious crash. They had no explanation for the crash, so they quit boats and went top fuel drag racing because its safer.

Safety is a relative term, I guess.

Wow, talk about a trip down memory lane! When my parents and I made our first vacation trip out West, we were in Amarillo on a weekend and learned that they had drag races scheduled for the next day. We stayed over so we could go watch - this was really early 1960's. The two things I remember about that day were Eddie Hill's dragster and a wicked black Plymouth Super Stock run by a dealer named (if I remember) Fenner Tubbs. I've long been a fan of Eddie's - glad to see he's still racing!!

I'm from Dallas, so I heard Fast Eddie's name a lot growing up. It's neat that he would hang out here.
