I'll be there shooting photos and hanging out. I don't recall if a PM will reach me, but if you want to you can try. Otherwise I'll be the guy with a Canon and a backpack wandering around the infield (likely the hillside across from the left-hander, and as near the uphill as I can get).

I'll share photos when I can.

I may be going. Still undecided. Ticket prices at the gate are expensive and I didn't think to buy early.

^^ Ditto. Forgot to pre-buy. I try to go each year, but since I was at the ALMS race I don't feel as bad passing up the vintage this year.

    There's a discount if you're a AAA member.

I'll be there. Decided not to race as I'll be racing at the NJMP Vintage (+airshow) in a few weeks). I'll be in a Toyota Landcruiser with about 6 or 7 friends. We have a group of Lotus folks on-site we're meeting up with after the races.

Here's my snaps from last years LR Vintage:

I'll be there tomorrow - a buddy snagged some VIP hospitality passes, so I'll be periodically sullying the Beautiful People tent with my presence. Otherwise, I'll be the guy with a beard and a black Timbuk2 bag.

I saw people taking pictures of this car for two days.

I'm sure that most people had no idea what it was or what it was supposed to look like, a bunch of others assumed it was a 30's era Talbot.

Very few people probably realized that it is just a tacky, glorified kit car, at the most 20 years old. The "F" on the back stands for "Fiberglass".

Count me as one who was duped. I noticed the badge read "Talbo", which did strike me as very odd, but I didn't spend enough time looking it over to pick out details (these were all taken during the lunch break, so I was moving quickly). Sure is pretty, though.

my wife was driving up separately with 3 friends to do the "Taste of Litchfield". Fortunately, I called her and told her it was 6 or 7 food vendors and 4 craft vendors and $40 each to get into the place. They went to the local fair and had a better time, since they're not car people. The local press made it sound like the food festival was the primary event, and the racing / car show was a side light, rather than the other way around. I wonder how many other people were annoyed by this.

IMO, I don't think it was too expensive to get in. $45 buy at the gate admission, no charge for the paddocks or anwhere around the track, and lots of the cars that were going to be there for the councours on Sunday were already there on Saturday, when I went. Plus there were the large car corrals with some interesting and rare machinery....

This coming weekend is the concours in Fairfield, CT. Just getting on the grounds is $25, then another $75 if you want to go to the VIP/food available section....and there will be a fraction of the cars there that showed up at Lime Rock. And none of them will be racing. Or autocrossing...

So, I don't think the $45 wasn't bad at all for a full day at a track, 12 races, car corrals, vintage and current rare cars, and owners of all the machinery who were HAPPY to answer questions about their machinery--not what one usually encounters at a race weekend.

The Sunday concours only (racing is banned on Sundays at Lime Tock; there's a church across the street) was $25. And the cars were parked on the track, all the way around the track.

In all, yes, I thought twice about the admission, and am very glad I went. Money is tight, but two people going to a movie, a burger after, and there's your admission price. That said, I did pass on going to the ALMS race this year. That admission ($70?) was a bit much--watched it live on SPEED.

The taste of Litchfield portion wasn't mentioned on the local TV news reported Dan Kayne. Maybe a different station hyped it.

    I'll go again next year

I've culled my photos down from about 1600 to 150 or so. Enjoy. Vintage Festival Pics

An amazing weekend. Some of these vintage drivers are really thrashing these cars. Others, not so much unfortunately.

But seriously cool overall. I'm looking forward to next year's event already!

Remember that there is almost always a discount at Lime Rock if you show your AAA card.

A Taste of Litchfield was disappointing, but still far better than a $5 hot dog. I think that it probably was a good deal for the restaurants that were there. The lines weren't huge, but they were selling food as fast as they could prepare it. I hope they are there again next year.
