I'm looking to make the ol Rally Pumpkin less "pumpkinish". I would like to break up the orange with something. Also need some advice on the paint. It is shiny in some areas and not in others. Wet sanding? If so, what grit?

As to the paint issues, do you know what type of paint is on it? Single stage or base clear?

Wet sand and polish is pretty aggressive. You need to make sure you have enough paint so that you don't burn through. But a good cut and buff job does miracles.

Yeah, I'd second the idea for adding some black. That's a lot of orange. Some black should add some depth and contrast.

Orange and white works too.

If you want more "funk" do the Cuda or tiger stripes in bright blue rather than black.

If your orange is not bright in person then maybe a gray.

I'm going to recommend a nice 50% grey, slightly warm, instead of black. Black and orange is fine, but a bit strong and a bit overplayed.

If you think you need to increase the car's visibility, some variation on this...

Kind of Signal Auto-ish

and strangely enough they have several orange cars over the years

I have no idea and no paint. It was done by the previous owner.

Sounds like buffing would be a better idea.

Lots of good ideas here, but I think this one is my favorite.

Zooming in and seeing your tires I am reminded that you use this for Rallyx. This means you are in fields and trees.
Maybe fashion a "cone hunter" theme with the use of camo vinyl.
Boss or Cuda stripe done in camo. For more wild, I'd like to see tiger stripes done on camo and then fashion a toy gun "gun rack" in the rear window.

I think it would look great as a Jack-O-Lantern. Paint the "face" parts in black. Halloween is right around the corner!

This makes me think about a possible Lemons theme...
