Quick question. The car is a '97 Miata.

Previous owner of my car removed the AC and did not replace one of the bolts that holds the AC bracket on, and also is a bolt holding the oil pump to the block.  So it has sprung leak at that point.  I have found mixed answers so I came to the place that knows everything Miata.

Is there an oil pump gasket? Or can I just use a good sealer?  I am resealing the engine and it is already out of the car, but I am now ordering parts.

Thanks!!!

Interesting topic - didn't know AC Bolts/bracket could lead to an oil leak on these!

It's not really an AC bracket bolt, it's an oil pump bolt that has a secondary use :)

No big paper gasket. There's an o-ring, part FE1H-14-122A. 14-110J in the diagram.

Thanks, Keith!

Does FM have them in stock? Along with 14-248 in the pic above?

What sealant would you recommend?

Thank you for asking!

Here's the gasket: https://www.flyinmiata.com/gasket-oil-pick-up.html
O-ring: https://www.flyinmiata.com/o-ring-for-oil-pump.html

You may want a new front crank seal on hand just in case. And I don't remember if you have to drop the pan (I think so), but in that case you'll also want front and rear pan seals.

For sealant, we use Right Stuff. I don't think we sell it individually but you can get it at your auto parts store.

No, Thank you!  Filling up my cart now!  I'll probably order later today.

I ran into this same issue on an Audi 5cyl.

I put a bolt in where the bracket used to go into and the leak stopped.

That worked on my last Miata.  Not this one.
