My Miata (2002 LS, 5 speed, 80,000 mostly highway miles) kicks out of first gear once in awhile when pulling away from a light or stop sign.
My guess is 1st gear synchro is going. Going to try a gear oil change with Redline Synthetic before I do anything.
How much do syncro's cost? Have a good wrenching buddy to help install, just curious about the part if it is the synchro.
Also, is there a heavy duty Synchro available, and will this bump me out of stock class if I install it?
