Nah, that's not it and I actually do like Miatas-just think the constant fawning over them becomes slightly nauseous after a bit. Besides, I like crapboxes as much as the next enthusiast and drive my GLHS a lot more than the exotics!

HAHA, there's at least one per day on here, any less and someone would have to tug it just to make sure they got their quota...

Ain't it the truth. They usually start out something like this....well, you know, nothing is better balanced than a Miata, much better for a beginner to learn on, you don't need horsepower-just the Miata blender and its wonderful chassis, I don't know how anyone can say they are sissy Mary cars, they always pass the Ferraris at the track days, I'm comfortable with my manhood-and love my Miata, the are so reliable that I ran mine in three consecutive 24 hours races and not only did nothing break, but I set FTD and was so refreshed I could have run another, ahh, top down motoring, a balanced sportscar and all the power a sane and responsible person would ever need, tell your friend-dad-co-worker-life partner that the WRX-Corvette-Viper-Mustang-Porsche-BMW that they want is a big waste of money and the Miata will be much faster around the track, big power is mean and scary, my Miata is my friend, my little tires can be purchased at a skate shop for about 25 dollars and they will last three or four decades-your Corvette tires cost 1 million dollars! apiece, and will wear out by the time you exit the pits. Miatas aren't chick cars.

...and I think that's why high horspower cars make me sad, I think.

..Hmmm, interesting. You know what makes me sad? YOU DO! maybe we should chug on over to MaitaLand where maybe we can find some self-confidence for you, you jackwagon!

    Tissue? Crybaby.

AHAHHAAHA, my wife and I joke about those commercials all the damn time, her favorite is the woodchuck one, mine R. Lee Ermey as 'TheRapist' (for $400 Alex).

Well, tough to say as I don't know you or have any idea of what car would be best for your situation and intended usage. If you want a Miata, nothing wrong with that. Nor anything wrong with a nice E30 as Pops is suggesting. My posts(no rant intended-all in good fun) was aimed more towards the endless fapster postings regarding the little Mazda.

You know, if the subject is something you don't want to read, then don't.

Perhaps it will make you less upset?

If you intentionally read it, and then get upset with the subject, seems as if it's partially your fault for not reading the subject.

but that's just me. There are a LOT of threads that I never read, since I have no interest, or I just don't like the subject.

This may be the end of any bit of respect on this board but I enjoy my Civics more then any of the Miatas I have been in...

Just a thought, for all I know you might be Mr. Superwrench yourself. If Dad is a BMW mechanic, he might be trying to steer you that way because he knows the foibles of the cars and having a car that he is 100% sure he can help you out with makes him feel better.

I'd take a choice E30 over a Miata myself, but I have an irrational fear of convertibles. The problem is you're going to be hard pressed to find an E30 in really good shape for low dollars.

oh ya id loooove a nice e30 but im honestly looking for something more in the bracket of free-cheap. i mostly just wanted to prove through this thread that miatas are awesome. considering my means and priorities, chances are im gonna end up in a crx
