I have a friend that is self employed and has a 70s Chevy Cube van that he uses for his job delivering grocery store items. It has the SBC 350. Just turned over 900K and still running strong. Many items like the water pump and exhaust have been replaced many times.

Funny story........He buys all these parts at O'Reilly's Auto Parts (previously called Murray's) where they have a lifetime warranty. Just save the receipt and you are good to go. He's been through radiators, water pumps, starters etc. Just walks in with the receipt and the old part.and they give him a new one....no questions asked. So he only ever pays for these parts once.

My mother just got rid of her 1987 Mercedes 300D that she bought with 20k on it back in 1990 or so. It had 714000 miles on it when she sold it. Aside from regular maintenance, she had it repainted once, replaced the driver's seat twice and went through countless window switches.
