Here's a quick vid of mine from this passed Saturday's event! We had a BLAST and I can NOT wait to do all of this again! I love drifting so much, it's pure adrenaline . . .which in the end kinda sucks because you're worn out from always being on that knife-edge. I wouldn't trade it for the world though!

In car cameras are so boring, especially for a form of motorsports that's all about "the show".

    another cool video.

its obviously not me or anyone i know. but you gotta love the rawness of ebisu. its a long video, but you have to listen to the blue car with the sound way up. its a toyota, maybe a JZX chassis car, not sure though. these people are crazy.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzr0AIsPilY&feature=channel_page

No. Not unless they've got a modified steering rack. That's actually one of the 2 big problems with drifting a Mustang, the other being specific to the pre-'05 cars and the utter crap 4-link suspension geometry and its associated lateral axle float.

EDIT: Here's a video from the last ThuderDrift. And yes, it was fulltrack

i wonder if cutting and welding the steering knuckle (to allow more angle without modifying the rack) and/or modifying the rack with tierod spacers would help any? i know s13's and s14's can do crazy stuff with modified knuckles and tie rod spacers.

btw. what do you mean by lateral axle float? (excuse the ignorance) ive a got a corolla that ive slid around a couple times with and its got a four link + panhard liveaxle setup

Live-axle Mustangs up through '04 had a triangulated 4-link and no panhard bar. The upper control arms are supposed to do double duty of lateral axle location and preventing axle wrap, and pretty much suck at both jobs.

I've had a RWD Corolla with that 4-link/panhard bar set, and currently own a 1st-gen Celica that has it. It's light years ahead of the Mustang 4-link.

wow... really? thats suprising.. the corolla is my first rwd car. ive had it two years and been through all kinds of ups and downs with it. im thinking about selling it come to think of it...

but anyway, yeah, i think i can see how the triangulated 4 link could be potentially unstable if not unpredictable under a load. especially sideways. thanks for the info!

The 05+ Mustangs can get really good steering angle, my boy Dave Jones can get crazy angle and all he's done is remove his steering angle limiters. I removed my steering angle limiters but I don't have S197 angle

The steering angle limiters is a free modification that any Mustang can do, just pull back your tie-rod boot, steer to lock, pull out the plastic clip that's there, replace boot, turn all the way to the other side, repeat process for other side.

It took me 5 mins to do it and I'm no where NEAR good at mechanics (for those who remember my timing belt fiasco).

But yeah, SN-95 and below (04 on down) Mustangs aren't very good with the angle, but S197 (05+) are really REALLY good.

Although . . .I removed my steering angle limiters and I've been able to get DEEP when I get my grip to the rear wheels!
