My magic 8 ball says the OP is correct and you sir are seriously wrong.

I admit, the 1g probe styling would probably fare better if dodge hadnt made a vastly better looking version of the same kind of car at the same time.

To be clear, i dont even like daytonas, but it's a VASTLY better looking take on that whole theme of late 80s rounded angles flip up lights sporty coupe thing.

Still cool cars, but not for their styling imo. The probe styling tries and fails to do something. The mx6 styling does not try anything and ends up looking better.

MX6 has factory box flares. All other discussion on styling is irrelevant.

well..... got it running, the distributor was the culprit! It runs great! Drove it home this evening and what a powerhouse! gonna clean it up and see if there electrical drain and if so try to figure it out. I did notice the heater blower randomly kicking off so possibly have a short somewhere. Still for $300 i'm not complaining!

Both the relays and the resistor packs are known to go bad. Luckily both are cheap and extremely easy to get to.

Inspection tells me that the headlights being up are the cause of the electrical drain... Treied to manually cank down the motors and they are so stiff i cant hardly turn them... so thats next on the to do list.the heater issue seems to be related to the relay as it seems to cut power completely... Tagging it in a few hours can't wait!

Well I got it licensed and finally had a nice day to wash it :) I'm thrilled with it especially for the $300 price tag... I have found a few flukes, but all are easy & cheap to repair Window regulators, headlight motors, and intermittent blower motor.

Drove it for 2 weeks and the clutch suddenly wouldn't release completely... so is been parked, got the MX-3 running enough to move itself outta the garage so i started the teardown of the Probe... While removing stuff to access the transmission bolts, look what was in my Air Filter and Airbox... Uploaded with Snapbucket (Original)

Yes all this came from that K&N Filter.... I imagine my fuel mileage will go up as will performance :-) Uploaded with Snapbucket (Original)

Heres the culprit of the clutch issue......... A part of the spring retainer on the clutch disc broke off and wouldn't let the clutch disengage.

I won a new BorgWarner Clutch on Ebay for $49.95 with $22.00 shipping... It should be here tomorrow. Also found both Window Regulators with Motors for $86 shipped, installed one yesterday and probably do the other today if my parts dont show. I'shoulda used this as my Challenge car as I still have over $1500 in the budget for mods as of now...lol

Build this one as backup challenge car! Or get someone else to drive it!

We need ALL the F2T cars at the challenge!

Need a 65mm IHI RHB8 turbo for this one?

Wait until i get 'em here. Gotta take measurements and figure out exactly what they are.

mndsm might want one of them. (I got two.)

I DO know that it's a divided T4 flange with v-band exhaust housing.

I have my extra manifold with the stripped out bolt holes I could get a T-4 Flange welded to. I'm about to get a new GT2871R Cartridge for the Mazda in a couple weeks but maybe somethin to do over the summer for the Probe... soon i'm gonna give the engine a really good scrubdown as the leaking valvecover gasket I'm replacing today has a nice think covering of gunk over everything, but man it does run great!!!

I worked on the beast last night til around 2am.... First I changed the Valvecover Gasket and boy was I suprised what I found inside.... Look at how clean it is inside!!!!!!! Uploaded with Snapbucket (Original) Uploaded with Snapbucket (Original) Also the pivots are rusted stuck, so thats why the PO had a kill switch in it... New headlight motors are next on my to do list... I'm waiting on Fed Ex to drop off my clutch so I should have it back together this evening :-)

Keep in mind that this is an '89 Probe Turbo with 102,xxx original miles on the clock...

I'm not sure what the head should look like, to be honest...

Neither of my heads have reached 20k miles yet.
