    Hey gang,

Winter is coming and i've got to put at least one car outside. Last winter it was the MGB. It sat under a tarp covered by a cheap car cover. Come spring, i was not suprised to see signs of the car being used by critters. Thankfully no evidence of mice/rats hiding out, but plenty of empty walnut and acorn shells hidden in every nook by the squirrels.

This winter either the MGB or the GLH or both will be outside. What have you all used as a mothball alternative to keep the critters out of your ride?

Also, could you name a quality universal All-Weather car cover? I'm willing to spend a bit if it will last more than 1 year of constant outdoor use.

Thanks! p.s. No room for a shed or one of those temporary pop-up garages...

I've used fabric softener sheets inside the car.

Like peppermint?? Mice do not. get real peppermint oil and dab cotton balls and put them in the air cleaner, tail light area of trunk.

Good thread, please excuse a slight thread-jack/broadening. I had to mothball my Miata last winter. Quality fitted cover was nice until the critters chewed off the fluffy soft underside. They made a nest in the cowl, but thankfully they didn't eat any wires or breach the trunk or interior.

The first rocker rust showed up the following summer. Is there anything to do to combat whatever condensation/dampness caused this, given it's parked on top of dirt/gravel?

On concrete I lay down chipboard sheets to soak up the moisture, on stone find something that can handle the weather for the period and park on it
