To really catch that spirit would it not be more appropriate to go with red painted steel rims and true hubcaps?

Fairlane 500, not a Victoria. Last year for the Victoria (for a while, anyway) was 1956 and this car is a 57. The big fins and lack of b-pillar mean it's a 500 and not a 300.

Paint the steelies, the other ones are to nice to mess with IMO. Plus, painted spokes kinda looks Importish (doesn't fit a P71).
Either way I'd leave it as is. I like it.

Since yours is an 02, you should just get some nice 17X9 Cragar steel wheels and rock'm red with the chrome center caps! They'll be nice and meaty looking, and they are fairly reasonable as well at $80 a wheel.

Leave the 5-spokes alone, they look WAY too good to paint. Also, +1 Billion on sidepipes!!!
