My two year old doesn't ask for driving stunts, he just wants to play "name the car" all the time. From 'Chebby', to 'schoom schoom mazda' there isn't much out there he doesn't know. But he is still a two year old.... the other day a Ferrari was coming down the block and I was eager to introduce a new word into his vocab .... sadly his reply was "Dodge Rham Soccerball!" as he pointed to the Durango with the soccerball sticker in the back window in front of us....

Oh well at least he knows Porsche!

I guess your definition of "crazy" and mine are different. Tomorrow morning I'll strap a full faced helmet on, along with some other protective gear, and rail my 9" travel mountain bike down some steep terrain with a bunch of jumps...Some folks think that is "crazy" as well.

It's about control and doing something out of your comfort zone at the track, on the street or on the auto-X course where discretion comes in. There are more times when I feel comfortable and in control driving my GTI at 10/10th on Brixham Road in Eliot, Maine than I would ripping along in traffic at 85mph towards the Lowell Connector in Mass...and sheeple do that every day with no self-awareness or discretion.

My kids love the Aurora over mom's minivan because its FAST..(comparativly)

I can't wait to let them in a real quick car. My 6.5 yo got to ride in his Grandpa's 3.0 Z3 and loved it!

When my daughter had her learners permit she asked if she could try my 5.0 Mustang. After numerous practice starts and stops in an empty parking lot we decided to try driving on the local streets. All went well till we got to an intersection with a slight uphill grade. My daughter let the clutch up without enough throttle resulting in some pretty nasty bunny hopping. I told her to give it a little gas. Well she gave it a LOT of gas! John Force would have been proud. She left two very dark stripes across the intersection. After she apologized numerous times she smiled and said to me " That was kinda fun though"

I'm already in the process of building my son's 2nd car, 1st car's should be stock and slow. I had a plymouth sundance 4cyc and 3 speed automatic, so something along those lines comes to mind. But for my son's 2nd car, which is in the process of being built, its gonna be rather exciting and safe, a fully caged vr4 galant, hopefully 300hp and 350-400lb tq.

He's currently 2 months old. Until he uses the car its mine though, lol.

In honor of this thread I took my 2 year old son out Sat morning in the Miata. It's always a bit of work to move the car seat, but it was worth it. He loves riding in it with the top down. He asked me to make it go loud. It's not really that loud, just louder than the Accord he's used to riding in. I also explained what the "Woosh" sound was coming from the engine and got on it a bit. I never exceeded the speed limit or did anything crazy though. Also did about 2 laps around a local traffic circle at a decent (safe) speed. He loved it. Sadly I'll probably be selling it soon for something with a back seat (daughter coming any day), but I'll make sure it's a fun car!
