I think your Neon might be cursed.

The jackstands were sitting right next to me as I took that picture....they were then put under the car.

The brakes on our Neon weren't up for much performance use, fading after just a few stops from 60 mph. We decided to replace the rotors with new cross-drilled and slotted pieces from Racing Brake and pads from Carbotech. We chose Carbotech's XP8 autocross pad for our Neon, as it should also work well in a rallycross setting.

Unfortunately, one of the phenolic caliper pistons decided to shatter as we were retracting it into its bore. We've got a new one ordered, and we'll be able to test our new brakes soon.

P.S. What's that crazy oil filter you're using?

Drilled and slotted and all that fancyness? How will those hold up?

A lot of expense for no benefit. OEM type rotors work best.

I had a bad experience using Carbotech bobcat pads with Racing Brake rotors. Racing brake doesn't recommend using Carbotech pads and Carbotech doesn't recommend using Racing Brake rotors. I experienced poor stopping and overheating. Switched to Hawk pads. The Carbotechs worked great with the OE rotors.
