I have just about got the old engine out of the geo, and the new engine came yesterday, but came with new problems. The engine in there now is the fuel injected one, and jdmtigerjapanese.com sent me the carb'd kind. and of course i checked on the website whether it was fi or carb'd before i bought it, but they still sent me the wrong kind. it even has the air conditioner system with it, which is kinda silly in a convertible. so now i have to swap over the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold to get the flipping thing to work. and on top of all that i have to deal with stupid people who don't understand that its a economy car, and it doesn't need nos or turbo.

i will post pictures of a engine less geo later.

Any chance I could buy the carb stuff off you? I've actually been looking for one of those intake manifolds for one project.

If the motor's coming from Japan, and it's the 3-cylinder, then it's going to have a carb on it. They never used EFI on them, to the best of my knowledge, for the JDM. They just don't run them over there long enough for the carb to get out of tune. That's why the EFI is a fuel only unit and the ignition is stand-alone as well, so they could all use the same distributor.

The word you were looking for is "nitrous".

I was hoping you were stuffing an LS7 in there complete with rear mounted transaxle. sigh I guess I can dream.

Wow nice! Of course it would guzzle gas, but that gas would turn into forward motion very easily without much weight involved

While I agree that A/C seems stupid for a 'vert, my uncle and aunt who bought a new Chevy every 2 years once bought an Impala Convertible. They had never owned one before, and never bought another one....my aunt was terrified of having a blowout and flipping over. The car was delivered with A/C even tho it was a special order and they did NOT order A/C. To seem even stupider, they lived in northeastern Pa. and no one there REALLY needs A/C except in June, July, and most of August. Too bad the bigger Suzuki engines, like the 1.3 don't fit...or do they?

today i removed the engine, took off the exhaust manifold, which was really hard because the bolts are rusted onto the heat shield so i had to rip it apart with a pair of pliers, and i removed the ac, engine will most likely be put back together tomorrow, and back in the car Monday.

i have seen the hayabusa v8, and its a great dream, but again makes no sense in a economy car. neat idea tho. i saw the guy with the cbr600 in his, that wouldn't be that much worse on gas i think.

It's kind of wild, but last night at work a woman with a Metro 'vert was trying desperately to get it re-started. She never did, tho I'll check today. Apparently it hit the end of the road.

well its finished, i ran out of time at my school, it wouldn't start cause it had a rad leak, and my partner grounded out the alternator. i took it to my friendly neighborhood mech, and we finished it a couple days ago. it now has a Japanese g10 that likes to rev alot more than the last one.

after fixing it, it promptly broke. i was coming out of Canadian tire, no jokes please, it revved wildly, the throttle wasn't tight, so i fixed it, and we went on our way. the only big problem now is a battery that wont hold a charge.

feel free to vote up on my ride jk.
