Not sure if this is a repost. Either way it makes me happy. Enjoy.

So this thing is actually going to be a reality???

That would be the most appealing supercar to come along in quite sometime. Near-458 performance (minus top speed) in a drop-dead gorgeous package.

If I were a rich man...

It's got a lot going for it...other than price I suppose. I don't imagine I'll ever see one, much less trade my house for one.

I love all the kids on that site moaning about the 170mph top speed...

The original was purpose-built to win rallies, which it did in spades. I am not sure I get the purpose of this one other than a rich man's toy. For the money, there are many better options than such a small, short-wheelbase car. I suppose it is the ultimate hill climb machine?

it's also going to be a quarter of a million dollars. (how much did the old stratos cost?)

It is my hope that it will be as scary as the old one. Someone needs to build a car that will scare your pants off.

in 2010 dollars, that is just under 100,000 dollars. WOW!

a Dino 246 GT was $14,500, to put the number in perspective.

It's so rewarding to see a builder drop the top speed in pursuit of building a true driver's car.

both are being quoted for truth...and win content

I LOL'd as well, this was better than "Does anyone else think Clarkson is walking around just fully erect these days thinking about this car?"

Quarter-mill + scary car = even scarier lawsuit when the first moron shunts one.

I'm not really a big fan of "supercars" and the like. But that thing is beautiful. And I want one.

So anyone think this may show up in WRC again? I'd love that...

Nope. The rules pretty much allow only 2.0L turbo AWD cars to participate anymore. Although, there is a road racing version in the works that will soften the blow:

And if some intrepid Stratos owner has the cojones to take his off-road for a little slideways action, then all is forgiven.

I still want a new Stratos badly.

Didn't the WRC just go to 1.6l also?
