Just got it home today, not running, cruddy paint, little rust, clean interior.

Leads to parts, experts, engine/trans gurus etc welcome.

Looks like it'll be a restore like the GRM Sunbeam Tiger, mostly stock with some go faster parts.

Colors under consideration are BRG or Burgundy.

Cool car. Is it an auto or manual? Original engine? I understand many have been fitted with Rover V8's instead of the original (supposedly unreliable) Triumph unit.

Chuck some pictures up if you can.

Had one for 10+ years, great car when restored, lots of fun to drive and rarer than almost any car on the road that you could drive. See mine at http://www.v8triumph.com

Parts dealers - Rimmer Bros in England http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/

Club - Stag Club of America http://www.triumphstagclubusa.org/

Engines are fragile, engine swaps can be done but upset the balance of the car if they are too heavy. Believe it or not, the rover V8's are too light and make the car float at speed. A Ford or Chevy V8 with aluminum heads would work but need to upgrade the rear end to handle the power. Transmission and rear end are very similar to a TR6 (upgraded with larger bearings, etc..)

Good luck, thought about getting another a few times, but so many cars and so little time!

My neighbor in Australia had one when I was a kid, it was the sweetest sounding engine I ever heard outside of a Ferrari.

I haven't been over it yet, I will get some photos and put them on CarDomain.

It is a 4 speed non overdrive manual, only has 27K on it.

Yes, I had a stainless steel exhaust on mine (like the stock system, dual pipes with a cross over tube). Car sounded absolutely fantastic, I just loved to rev it up listen to that engine!
