As much as I would love to see my home track reopened (I learned to race there), the odds are that it will never happen. At this point there are too many financial hurdles (even some existing tracks are struggling) for it to be viable.

If you have a car, Go drive the Palisades to 9W north onto 218 north, Which is the Storm King Highway. It goes past West Point, and is an Excellent ride.

If you want look at a map and find 7 Lakes Drive. It hooks up with the route to Storm King, and is also a excelent ride.

As you climb the mountain a little past the end of the palasades but before West Point the road curves to the left uphill, about at the point where you my need to relieve yourself. There is a pull off with a small stone monument proclaiming that on the way from the airport to West Point the Iraninan Hostages stopped there and touched the ground on the outside world for the first time. I assume someone on the bus also had to go.

The little pull off closer the to cliff overlooking the water and the train line? If so, I was there earlier this summer, and the monument is gone.
