My wagon suddenly has lost reverse lights!
I checked the bulbs with new ones. They're good.
Pulled the switch and tested the plug, but didn't get any power on the plug.
Suggestions?

Fuse maybe? Did you look at the reverse switch on the tranny/shifter?
Yea, I tried to get a voltage from the plug going into the reverse switch but got nothing. How would I test to make sure the switch is getting voltage?
Can't seem to find a fuse directly linked to the reverse lights.
I've got an EVTM at home. I'll try to remember to bring it to work with me monday and scan anything pertinent for you. Give me a pm if you're interested...as a reminder.
Thanks, Clem
Thing is, I can't figure out what the heck controls the reverse lights. Is there a two wire switch like on most cars? or a range/neutral safety switch?
If it was the neutral safety switch I'd expect it not to allow me to start the car.
most Fords with automatics have the neutral safety/reverse light switch mounted on the transmission right where the shift linkage hooks up. one big plug with a bunch of wires going to it. if it's a manual trans, then i'd bet that there is a switch mounted where the reverse linkage goes into the trans.
There is a fuse on the instrument fuse panel. 15 A. Probably the meter fuse. Manual transaxle has a switch on the transaxle. Automatics have the switch on the manual lever in the car. Don't forget the grounds at the lamps.
Its manual.
Manual Transaxle has a 4 wire switch on the front of the transmission, but I'm not sure that the one. I can't find a two wire switch anywhere else on the trans.
I've checked all the fuses, they are fine.
The wires on the lamps look good, unless the grounds for both reverse lights has messed up.
The backup switch is on the bottom of the transmission. The wires are blk/yel and red/grn. Grounds are black.
